According to the Lail book, Hans Georg was born in 1703 in Eisingen (Wuerettemberg, Germany) adn arrived in Philadelphia Aug 30, 1737 on the ship Samuel and died in NC after 1771 and was married May 6 1732to Mary Elizaabeth Rudes christened Mar 22, 1711 at Sternenfels (Wu., Germany) and died NC. They migrated to NC from PA in 1754, acquired a land grant in 1761. There is a son John Jacob born 1750 in York Co. Pa and he married an Anna Mary (no last name..) Their first child was born in NC Mecklenburg Co in 1784 (Henry) then they had daughers in 1786, 88, 90, then (in Lincoln Co. NC) a George in 1792, Peter in 1794, Jacob in 1796, Joseph in 1801, and John in 1804--by then Anna Mary had been having children for 20 years and was probably between 35 and 45 and no longer "fertile."See the note about ordering the family geneaology--it is really interesting--as in the original traced descendant was a Lutheran minister ordained just at the time that Martin Luther was establishing the "protest-ants".Martin Luther died in 1546 and the oldest traced decendant, Hans Georg Lail (Lohl) was born in 1550 in Catholic Bavaria. The family was kicked out when they joined the "protest-ants" against the pope and church authority. Hans' son Johannes Christopher b. 1573 is listed as the minister of the Lutheran church in Wuerttemberg Germany from 1600 to 1630 (and died of plague). This was during the Thrity Years War (1618-1648) when all of Europe was erupting in a religious fight against the domination and control of the Catholic Church and the Pope in matters of how to worship and what to believe. The next in line to the Hans Georg who came to "America" (not the US yet!) were Hans Ludwig b. 1616, Johannes Lohl b 1646, Johann Georg Lohl b. 1673 and Hans Georg Lohl b. 1703--the one who emigrated. (The spelling of Lagle in the German should be read as a "Layle"--just like a "V" is used as a "U" in old inscriptions of buildings....there was some difference in the sounds/designationsof the letters of that era.
