I would like to get in touch with anyone researching the family of Valentine Lahr from Undenheim, Hesse, Germany and Galena, Illinois. Valentine Lahr (1805-1863) and his wife, Philopena Wirt (1807-1897), immigrated in 1850 from Undenheim, Hesse, Germany to Galena, Illinois. Two of his sons, August (1840-1913) & Valentine (1849-1929), lived in Butler County, Iowa. Another son, John (1829-1871), lived in St. Paul, Minnesota. His daughters were: Elizabeth Lahr (Conrad Scherling) (1832-1900) Guttenburg, Iowa; Philipina Lahr (Jacob Falkenhainer) (1834-1879) Guttenburg, Iowa; Catherine Lahr (Leo Cornelyson) (1838-?) Harpers Ferry, Iowa; Mary Lahr (Henry Franke) (1844-1916) Parkersburg, Iowa. I have a lot of information on this family and would love to share it with other descendents.
