I know a bunch of LaGrones and LeGrones from Perry county, My dad, Irby was born in Sprott, AL, Perry county in 1912. Not sure about Matilda, but there is a Mary Matilda, daughter if David LaGrone. Do you know your Matilda's birthdate? or any of her siblings?
