Roy LaGrone,
Matilda was born in 1823, so Mary Matilda is not the same person.
We do know Matilda born 1823, married John Carter in
1846. He was from Tenn. and She was born in S.C. They were married in Perry Co., Al.
They are buried at Carter-Lagrone Cemetery close to Morgan Springs,Perry Co., Al. So far we have not found the
cemetery. It is deep in the woods on an old logging road,
so I have been told.
We have had problems trying to finded out who her Father and Mother were.
Any information would be appreciated.
