Barbara and Josette Laforge are the daughters of Joseph Laforge and Angelica Pare. Joseph Laforge is the son of Louis Samson David Pradet dit Laforge and Marguerite Campeau. Joseph was married 14 Nov 1806 in Detroit, Mich. Ls. Sam. Dav. Pradet dit Laforge was m 28 Apr 1783 in Detroit. Ls. Sam. Dav. is the son of Jean-Simon Pradet dit St. Gelais and dit Laforge. Jean Simon was born & baptized as Jean-Simon Pradet in France. He was a soldier in Quebec. He was nicknamed St. Gelais for the village of St. Gelais close to where is was from in France. Jean Simon was also a Blacksmith and operated a Forge so he was also said to be LaForge. All of Ls. Sam. Dav. descendants use the name Laforge. Jean Simon's parents were Gaspard Pradet and Elizabeth Chagneau.(Sometimes Chaignon, Chaygnon).
