I have records for my grandfather and his parents dated 1882, oct 20th of a baptism for Francios Etienne Olivier LaFontaine son of Olivier LaFontaine and Marie Joncas. This is what the paper says that I had translated from french.

The 20th October, 1882 we, Vicaire undersigned, have baptised Francois-Ettienne-Olivier, born the same day, of legitimate marriage of Olivier LaFontaine, fisherman and of Marie Joncas of this parish. Godfather Charles Methot, fisherman, undersigned with us. Godmother Marie Eugenie Mercier who declare not know how to sign. The father absent. Sermon given. Charles Methote, Louis Paquet Priest

We, undersigned Protonotaire of the Superior Court for the district of Gaspe, certify that the present copy is identical as at registry of births, Marriages, and burial places of the parish catholic roman of the assumption of Notre Dame of the Grand River for the year 1882. Deposited in the archives judicial of the district of Gaspe.

Help PLEASE with either info on Olivier or Marie. Or even any records at that parish on marie or olivier.
