My name is Paul Norman Hemingway Jr and I am looking for any information about my ggreat grandfather Paul Guerin Lafontaine from La Prairie,Quebec and my ggreat grandmother Isabelle Degongre from La Prairie,Quebec/Montreal.Family oral history says there is aborginal/metis background in the Guerin Lafontaine/Degongre families. My great grandfather Paul Norman Lafontaine(born January 1873 in Troy,New York)and his siblings had medium brown skin and native features. They were known as dark french. There may have been an adoption in the family. There maybe a connection to Kahnawake reserve.Paul Guerin Lafontaine was living in the La Prairie/Montreal area on the 1851 Quebec census. If anyone has any information it would be much appreciated. My email is paulallyct@aol.com-All my relations
