Thank you for the message about the book. I do not have a copy of this book; I found it in a genealogical library. It seems to be rather rare, at this point. But as I recall, the author does not directly trace the line of the La Follettes back to these misty eras. He makes somewhat less detailed claims.
I am not particularily up on the history of the early French kings, so I personally wouldn't know. But I was born as a La Follette, and raised with pride in the tradition (especially as regards the Senator), and I never heard these claims. If they had been well-known or well-accepted claims, I think I probably would have. As a result, I am curious about them, though rather skeptical.
I think many people on this Forum, including me, would be interested in knowledge or thoughts you have on the illustrious ancestry issue.
