Old oral history of my family says that their name was orignally LaFleur, expelled from Canada for not embracing the English Orothodox Religion. Haven't been able to find the LaFleur. My ggg grandfather name was Edward Manuel (E.M.) Flores, (born 1847 in De Soto Parish) but half the family took the name Flowers...I cannot find a link.

I cannot find a link to the spaniard Flores either.
It has been said that Edward's father was Joseph Andrew or Andrew.
I have found the name to be spelled Floris and Florias, as well as flores and Flowers.
Any information to share would be appreciated or notes compared.
Marlene
