"Journal of Jean Laffite"

For those interested in the story of Jean Laffite [sic] the privateer, I would suggest a "" search under the term "Journal of Jean Laffite" (NOTE THE SPELLING OF THE LAST NAME).

In the past, the "journal" has been called a fraud, but I am not ready to dismiss it as such.

Over the years, *Genealogie et Histoire du Caraibe* (GHC) has published interesting notes (in French) by various people in France and elsewhere investigating this famous LAFFITE. GHC is on the web.

I think that a discussion of the "Journal" would be an interesting topic of discussion here (eventhough the name is spelled slightly different).
