CHRONOLOGICAL DOCUMENTATION FOR MATTHEW LAFFOON SR May 1757 is the first date of recorded documentation for Matthew Laffoon Sr. There is an earlier record, 1753, for Nathaniel Laffoon. Before these dates, we have been unable to locate any record of either man anywhere in Virginia. We do have records for an earlier John Laffoon, William Laffoon, and Thomas Laffoon any one of whom may have been their father or grandfather. These men lived in Henrico/Goochland County and in New Kent County, Virginia. So far, we have not found the connection linking them with Matthew and Nathaniel. I apologize for any mistakes in this. These are only my abstracts and I have tried not to draw any conclusions, but that leave that to the reader.
