John Mayton (Maton)was overseer of a plantation owned by Peter Jones. Later John acquired some (modest)acreage of his own. He probably was born in 1715; he was married to Margaret Lafoon; one of their sons, Robert, was a revolutionary war veteren. I am seeking further information about John, such as his parents or anything about his life. Thanks, Bill Mayton
