My mother-in-law, Helen Robna Thompson, left a paper on the LAFFOON's. She was born in 1918(OK) and died in 1989(WA).
She was the only child of Anna Bennett VARBLE and Robert Hayes THOMPSON.
Anna Bennett VARBLE was the only child of Minerva BENNETT and John Thomas VARBLE.
John Thomas VARBLE was the son of Elizabeth Frances LAFFOON and Jake VARBLE.
Elizabeth Frances LAFFOON was the daughter of James Mason LAFFOON.
Her paper reads like this, I have no idea where she got her information or if it is all true:

Elvira Shirley - Scotch - married in Frankfurt Co.,KY.
1816- 1883
Their 5 Children:
1.James LAFFOON
m. Elizabeth - some of their 13 children -
James; Thomas; Ruth; Margaret; Mollie;
Kate; Robert; John; and Frank.
2.Elyah Shirley LAFFOON
1840-1918
m. Sophia Myler - German
1855 - 1937
their son: Leo Lester LAFFOON 1877-1947
m. Gwendolyn Hutchinson
3.Robert LAFFOON
m. Mollie - they had 5 children - Everett; Samuel; Mary;
Jennie; and Orion.
4.Elizabeth Frances LAFFOON
m. Jacob VARBLE - German - their 4 children - John Thomas;
James; Ella; and Benjamin.
m. unknown PENCE - their children Earnest; and Emma.
5.Emily LAFFOON
m. Emanuel Messick - their children Allen; and Mary.
In John (Bo) Thomas VARBLE's obituary of 10 Oct 1912,
it states his parents as Jacob and Frances VARBLE, pioneer residents of Clay County, MO. He was also the nephew of E.S. Laffoon of Liberty, Clay County, MO.
Anyone have connections to these?
