Hi Sam,
I just read your post, and I had to laugh out loud. I used to think there were no other Laffeys as well! My grandfather (John L. Laffey of Bayonne, NJ) just passed away two days ago. After the funeral today, I got together with one of my dad's cousins, who is also a Laffey. He said that he has traced our branch of the Laffey family tree back to Ireland, and he has gone there to meet the family. He is mailing me a copy of the family tree---I can't believe there are so many others out there!
Keep looking around, I'm sure you'll find family somewhere! There are lots of us here in the US!
