I thought I had replied to you.
I do not have any information on your NY Lafferty.

My john Lafferty born 1859 in Ireland. His father Thomas was a freemason and a ulster scot, Presbyterian. John was a year old in 1760 when his father came from Ireland along with brothers one of them named Patrick also settled in Rutherford, NC. I think they came through VA and settled in NC. They were in NC when the war for independence started. Thomas bought himself a lieutenant in the English military, he was a tori and hanged after the battle of Kings mountain. John fought for SC in Fullbrook's regiment, he was a colonialist. John then went to TN and then to GA where he had land next to his wife's family. He married a scots woman. Sarah Lindsey. All children born in GA except the last. The last child LD was born in TN and from there old John took people from TN and KY border to settle in Izard county Arkansas. He led a group along with cattle they brought from NC. They did well there and old John witnessed the 1810 Madrid Fault earthquake that made the White River run backwards. In 1814 John was on his way to New Orleans to buy things for his trading post when he joined in with men going to join Andrew Jackson. My John fought in the battle for New Orleans and was shot in the battle. He came back to Arkansas where he died a year later. His sons played a prominent part of settling Arkansas. Were Laywers, politicians, and preachers.

John was my great great grandfather. His son Jacob Binks Lafferty born 1796 in GA stayed with the family and lived in Ruddel, Independence Co., AR until his mother passed and then moved and settled in Boone county and died there. Some of Binks children went to Parker County, Texas and settled there. One of them was my grandfather John Annis Lafferty born 1838 in Arkansas son of Jacob Binks Lafferty and Sarah miller. My grandfather John Annis Lafferty went to texas about 1857/8 with 2 sisters and a brother. then fought for the confederacy and from there he married in 1863 in Texas and had his family there. My father born 1875 in Texas went to Mew Mexico late 1800 where he talked my grandfather and aunt and uncle to move there too. Dad had a large family in NM with first wife 10 children. Then dad went to Mexico and married twice, second marriage he had 2 daughters and 3 marriage he had 4 children, having a total of 16 children. I have my grandfather Bible and I have a copy of my great grandfathers Bible. Also the family is written into several history books. Pioneers and makers of Arkansas.

go to google search and then to more and then to books and type in Pioneers and Makers of Arkansas and you will find the book in PDF form and there is a Lafferty chapter that outlines most of the Lafferty history. Most of it correct.

I have not come across a John Lafferty with the wife and children you have. My John Lafferty b 1859, is on but my tree right now is private as I am writing a book on him. My second book that is about 1600 pages. I wrote a 400 page book in 1995.

I hope I have at least eliminated one more John Lafferty for you. I never could get any further back. There are researchers who went to Ireland trying to find where Thomas and Patrick and who ever else came from or information on them and were not able too. Records are gone????

My Lafferty clan was well documented and when I started there were still children living who were great grandchidlren who were told by their parents the story of old John Lafferty born 1859 in Ireland. Many stories written about the settlement of Arkansas. Even know where he is buried with his wife.
