Hi Peggy, don't worry, this has confused me for a very long time!Okay, here goes:
Mary A. P. Boyd (Mary Ann "Polly" Pauline/Paulina) was found in the household of James LAFEVER in White Co., TN in the 1860 census. This would be his second marriage and obviously it was Mary Boyd's second as well.
Here is their marriage record:
Tennessee Marriages, 1851-1900
about Paulina Boyd
Name:James Lafever
Spouse:Paulina Boyd
Marriage Date:28 Jan 1857
County:White
State:TN
She had two daughters by her previous marriage to BOYD, living in household both with last names of BOYD, and they were Jane b. abt 1854 TN and Eliza Jane "Janie" b. abt 1852 TN.
I'm having trouble looking at that census right now as Ancestry is having problems. But by 1870 the White Co., TN census for James LaFever, the two Boyd girls are gone.
I'm trying to go further back on Mary Ann Polly Pauline/Paulina Boyd as she's my dead end on this part of the family.Mary's daughter Eliza Jane "Janie" Boyd b. abt 1852 TN later marries (abt 1870) Alfred Spears/SPEERS (can't find him in any records); he's dead by 1877-80.And Eliza and her children by this marriage are living in adjacent PUTNAM CO., TNin 1880 (Eliza Jane "Janie" is listed as widow) and are living with L. WHITEAKER. Also listed with Eliza & children is a Sarah ROBERTS age 76 and she's listed as "mother". So confusing! I'm trying to find out if Sarah ROBERTS was possibly the mother to Mary Ann Polly Paulina/Pauline Boyd LaFever. There is evidence supporting this theory as there is a marriage between a Pauline ROBERTS and Hiram BOYD in White Co., TN in 1850 I think. But I need further proof.
I'd appreciate any help on my family.
Thanks,
Cindy Spears Faulkner
