I think your LaFevers are probably descended from Abraham LaFever and Mary Steele LaFever, who lived in that immediate area. Abraham was the son of old Eli Lafever born 1803. His wife was Mary Steele, daughter of old John Steele (1786-1871). Eli LaFever was the son of Andrew LaFever Sr. and Nancy Ard, who came in 1832 to Bunker Hill, on the Falling Water River (now Putnam County), from the area of Jabez, Russell County (I think back then it was all Wayne County) Kentucky. Andrew's father was old Abraham "Layfevers" born 1750 died in Wayne County, KY about 1806. ALL the Lafevers in the Upper Cumberland are old Abraham "Layfevers" descendants, to the best of my knowledge. There was an old John LaFever who died here in Coffee County in 1841 whose wife was "Barbara", whom we cannot account for. Apparently they had no children. We cannot tie him in to our bunch thus far, but he may also be descended from Abraham of Kentucky.
