my gggggg grandfather was named Jean Motier He is said to have been from the same Motier family as Marquis de Lafayette which Lafayette was also a Motier. I am not sure how the two are kin maybe cousins or even brothers. I do know Jeans daughter married my ggggg grandfather Valentine Michel. So if anyone has any information about Jean Motier and Marquis de Lafayettes Families I would love to see what you have.
