My husband's Grandmother was born and married (May 3,1905 to Frederick Augustus Hartwig)
in Iowa. Her parents, John ( or George) Ladwig, born 1861, Illinois and Wilhemina (Minnie) Brant,
born1866, Woltenburg, West Prussia. The Brant family immigrated to U.S.A. 1872.
John and Minnie are believed to have been married Christmas 1884. They farmed near Williamstown
and later Sumner. They raised 6 children, including a set of twins, birth order unknown.
Martha Mary Elizabeth, Alwin, Elsie, Ernest, Rose & John.
The parents retired to Sumner, and both are buried in Sumner.
This information came to me in a round about way so I'm not sure how accurate it might be. If you
