Hi there...
I have a hole in my family tree. I have information as far back as Joseph LeDuc, born 1833, died Nov. 10, 1931 in Montreal.
He was married to Delaide Sabourine, born Sept. 1833, died Nov. 10, 1931 in Montreal. She was also married to one Pierre Rainville.
They had several children:
Fred
Anna
Alice
Mary
Louise
Alexander, born 1857 in Massena, died 1952 in Fine, NY
Levi
Henrietta, married to Joseph Dubois
My great-great grandfather was Alexander. Our limited understanding is that the family moved to NY State so Alexander could be born there and the family could claim U.S. citizenship. At some point, there was a rift in the family, and Alexander had little or no contact with his immediate family later in life. We're looking for any information on these siblings, or Joseph and Delaide. We do have a photo of Alexander and sister Mary taken in Cherry Hill, Ontario.
Alexander changed the spelling of his last name from Leduc to La Duke/LaDuke during his family troubles. He also dropped out of the Roman Catholic Church.
