Julianna,
Some years ago I had researched the Ledoux/Ladue name in Essex since my Great Grandmother was Olive Ledoux. Her siblings were Bruno, Pascal, Louis, Francois, and Marie.
The original name was spelled Ledoux and then took on various forms - at least it started out that way when researching and that is what Olive's name was spelled as.
The reply by Kelley Dinsmore to you, I can give some information on.I recall finding the names of Pauline and Rose and likely the other two (Marie and Fred) in Holy Family Church Cemetery in Essex Junction, VT.Not knowing if they were truly connected with Louis (b) ~1811 and Julie (Pepin) Ladue, I didn't put them in my records.
There were 13 children of Louis and Julie, but I found in the records in Essex:Frank (b) 1838 (m) 1857 Carolyn Seymour (b) 1840, lived in Williston, Essex, Jericho (all close townships) Vt; Napoleon (b) 1844 (m) Celia Robair of Essex, (d) 8/14/1893 Waterbury, VT, lived mostly in Jericho and Essex, Vt (had 14 children); Elizabeth (b) 9/18/1842 (m) 1865 Jean Meunier-Lafleur; Chauncy (b) ~1847 (d) 11/22/1867, accident in Williston; Julia (d) 1/9/1859 Williston, Vt (6 years); Elihue (d) 1/8/1859 (4 yrs); Joseph W. (b) ~1836 (d) 12/24/1865 at 26 yrs., 10 mos., Williston, VT.
As for the other siblings of Louis and Olive - Bruno (b) ~1833 (m) Rosalie Bussier 12/10/1852 Vercheres - He was a noted carriage maker in Montreal.
Pascal (b) ~1812 (m) Josephte Dalpe 8/10/1833 Vercheres
Francois (b) 5/11/1823 (m) Scholastique Desmarais 1/26/1847.
He was also a carriage maker with son Hubert).
Marie (b) ~1815 (m) Hubert Meunier 6/24/1850 (his first marriage was to Florence Larocque 7/1836).
Both Louis and Julie died in Essex but, as in the case of Olive Ledoux and her husband Francois-Xavier Chagnon, they weren't buried where you'd expect them to have been.To date I have not found where they are buried.Julie's parents were:Francois and Josephte (Hebert) Pepin (or Pippin in French).Julie was born 1812 (d) 9/12/1881 of Dropsy.
In this posting I won't go into the children and spouses of the siblings except the few of Louis and Julie Ladue I found info on, but if you want more info, let me know.
