Thank you for your reply. It would seem too ludicrous to believe that there would be a second Mary Quinlan that marries a LaDow, since both surnames are rare. However, my Mary was born in 1854 and the 1880 census shows her as still living at home and unmarried. She did marry by the year l884 however, when I found a legal document that called her Mary LaDow of New York City. I printed out the LaDow's available in New York State in 1880 and did find LaDow families in Halfmoon, Saratoga and Milton, Saratoga and one in Galway, Saratoga. I haven't looked at a map yet to see how far Saratoga is from Utica, Oneida Co. Would it be possible for you to let me know what kind of document or family history gave you the information about Mary Quinlan?Maybe she was a 2nd wife. Your information is intriguing and I would be pleased if you let me know if any more info becomes available. Thanx
