Kay,
Your husbands Albrights came out of York Co.Pa. Your Jacob Albright was born 16 Sep 1797 and was baptized 9 Apr 1797 in the Sherman's(St. David's) Union Church his father was Jacob Albrecht and Catarina, Jacob Albrecht is listed as sponsor, many have attached your Jacob as the son of my Jacob whose wife was Catherina Brungart. I do think we are related it is just how. My Jacob was also from York Co. and there is an Albright family that came from Switzerland in abt 1743 and settled in York they had many sons and of course everyone had a son named Jacob, so been trying to sort it out. Have had many contacts with your branch of Albrights.
I have been working on the Jouet's and will let you know what more I find
The JOUETT line originates in the Ile de France with Daniel de Jouet who
was a French Huguenot who is said to have emigrated to Rhode Island
following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685. Daniel, the
emigrant married Marie Coursier in France and they had five children: (1)
Daniel, born on the Isle de Re (2) Pierre, born on the Isle de Re (3)
Marie, born at Plymouth, England (4) Elizaabeth, born in New York and
married a Mr. Ladner and (5) Anne, born at New York and believed to have
died young. Pierre Jouet, moved to Virginia and established a familly
there.
However I found this, first part in French, the rest in English
Daniel Jouet, fils de Daniel Jouett et d'Elizabeth Jouet, natif de L'isle
de Re et Marie Coursier sa femme, fille de Jehan Coursier et de Anne
Perrotau. (Liste des Francios et Suisses Refugiez en Caroline, etc)
Their children Daniel and Pierre were born in that Island. A daughter Marie
was born in Plymouth, England Two sons, Ezechie and Jean and two daughters,
Elizabeth and Anne were baptized in the French Church, New York. Jouett was
one of the Narragansett colonists. He removed from New York to South
Carolina.
