William Ladd son of John was dismissed from Quakers for marrying contrary to discipline. His father cleared himself of consenting to this marriage to his first cousin. This was 2-1-1755 so I assume that he was son of John Ladd and Mary Crew. The Warren Ladd Book says this William married Mary Hubbard 5-7-1773. If so this was a 2ND marriage. This William son of John had to marry either a niece of his mother Mary Crew or of his father John Ladd. The likely candidate for this marriage might be Mary Crew daughter of David Crew and Mary Stanley. David was a brother to his mother Mary. After the death of Mary Stanley he married 2ND 1754 Mary Ladd a sister of John and widow of Samuel Magahee. Is this possibly the William that married Mary Unknown and is William that married Mary Hubbard possibly the son of William and Ursula Ladd. The other William that married Mary Hunnicutt is stated in Quaker records as son of James. Any corrections or thoughts appreciated. I believe Jesse Ladd born 1780/81 might be a son of the William Ladd that was listed on the 1782 Virginia census at Mecklenburg.I feel sure he is a grandson of William and Ursula I am trying to determine which William was in Mecklenburg in 1782.
