Pretty sad that I'm responding to my own message... anyway, some new insights two years later (and new questions).

According to most of the records kept at the Vermont State Archives, William Walter actually went by Walter William or better yet, Walter W. Ladd. The only thing missing is the death record. I can find no date of death or record for either him or his wife Addie Morse (could they have moved out of state? His granddaughter, my grandmother, has always believed that he was buried in Middlesex... not the case). Anybody out there related to this line? Anybody have any info that I could use?
