NELSON AND MARY LaCROIX FAMILY

Looking for information on 2 children of Nelson and Mary LaCroix who lived in Ecorse, Wayne, Mi. My grandfather was their oldest son, Ernest Edward LaCroix...His brother was Richard A. LaCroix and he was the youngest, we think. They had a sister, Eva Marie, who does show up in the 1900,1910 and 1920 census and then just disappears. Story told was that she ran away with a man because she was pregnant and they fled to Mexico. It is there that it is said she died from an accidental gunshot wound but nothing to back up the story. We also came across a receipt for burial made out to Nelson LaCroix on Aug 20, 1908 for "burial of child, including grave, casket and carriage" for 14.00. There is no name of the child or any indication of when they were born or age. The receipt was made out by A.J. Buresh, Jr. Funeral Furnisher and Carriage Livery and his business address was on Dix Avenue. My grandfather would have been about 14 years old in 1908 and never mentioned a brother or sister that had died...two mysterys I would love to solve!! If you have any info on EITHER, please contact me at jlstraw@comcast.net.
Thanks
Joan
