My thanks to Mike LaChapelle for letting me know about Pierre and Robert being in Detroit. Years ago I printed out the Cadillac story and list of names. I found several of my ancestors or their descendants on the list. For whatever reason, I missed Pierre and Robert. I have now entered that in my notes.

Here are my new notes for Pierre my 8th great grandfather.

Pierre contracted to work out West on 20 May 1692. Pierre Janot–aka-LaChapelle and his brother Robert Janot-aka-LaChapelle were "out west". The Detroit area was considered out west. They were voyageurs and lived in Detroit under Cadillac.
In the Detroit directory it was recorded that "Pierre Janot went there on May 22, 1709 with the nephew of his brother Robert Janot.

My new notes for Robert my 8th great granduncle:
Robert was "engage Ouest" from 1685 and 1695. Detroit was considered "Ouest (West)". In the early Detroit directory, it states that "Robert Janot (called La Chepele), came on April 2, 1707. He was uncle of Joseph Bazinet aka Tourblanche." Janet
