Belinda and Pierre:Early Louisiana Catholic Church Records (St. Landry Parish, specifically -- beginning mid 1700 hundreds) use the name LaCase and LaCasse (and LaCaze too but later) interchangeably. My original French ancestor in Quebec was Antoine Casse dit LaCasse. Like many dit names, it (LaCasse) eventually bacame he family name.Antoine's grandson Charles came via Illinois (where he married) and perhaps Mobile to Louisiana about 1770.Etienne was Charles's son.Charles wife and Etienne's mother was Filicite Langlois, dauthter of Augustin Langlois and Marie Louis Boudreau dit Graveline.Etienne married at least twice, first to Dorothee Hebert in St. Landry Parish, LA, and second to Dorothy Massite in Natchitoches Parish, LA.
