Thanks for response on Hubert LaCaille. I will be in contact with Montreal for info. Did get his Civil War pension records but no family info included. Have not seen the dit Cayer anywhere yet. Hubert also used alias Abram LaCoy - does this ring a bell. he lived in Colorado for a number of year in Denver area as a quartz miner and died in Central City in 1912.
