Hi!,

I agree with Charlie Lacaille that "Caille" normally is written in French with an accent on the last letter "Caillé", and may be written "Cayer" with the same pronunciation.
I never have found any relationship between "Caille" and Lacaille. As far as we can go in France in the past, it is always written "LaCaille" or "Lacaille" or maybe "La Caille" in two words that means "The Quail" but always with the article "La", never without it.
