sending you though if you don't have this information as of yet. You already
know about Adolphus but what you may not know is this family line came from
France then moved to Canada then the US(up State New York) The Canadan
spelling for Adolphus LaBounty is Adelphinus Labonte His middle name was
Henry spelled Henricus in Canada. Adolphus Father and Mother was Francis
LaBounty and Sophia Arcouette ( spelling in CanadaFrancois Labonte and
Sophie Arcouet)
As you can see the spelling has changed after they moved to the US so
keep this in mind when you read the info I'm about to give you. You will see
dates that look like this, b/bap 10/11-09-1851 and it means Birth was Sep
10, 1851 and their baptism was Sep 11, 1851

, here are the children of Francois & Sophie that I found in Keeseville.
They are in addition to Joseph & Sophie who were both baptized in St.
Edouard de Napierville( as per an earlier e-mail).
1) Mary spelled (Marie Louise bap Dec. 16, 1855 age three months. The
godparents were Marie Louise Arcouet and her husband Firmin
Menard, aunt and uncle to the child, Marie louise being the sister to
Sophie Arcouet.

3) Moyse b/bap 2/14-07-1861
4) Julie b/bap 12-05/07-06-1863
5) Trephle b/bap 15/6-04-1865
6) Adelphinus Henricus b/bap 31-03/01-05-1868

There is a bit of a gap between the births of Marie-Louise (1855) and Alexis
(1859) which leads me to believe that there may have been another child
born between 1855 and 1859. I found the record of Anatalie Labonte born to
Francois and Adeline Cathman b/bap 2/13-11-1856. Could there have been an
error in entering the mother's name when writing up the act?

The godparents were Ester Labonte & Francois-Xavier Surprenant of Moors

So, we know that Francois Labonte's parents were even south of the border
(for me at least).
