PRDH is a subscription site for researching early records in Quebec to which I am subscribed. I have found it to be extremely helpful, but limited to pre-1800 records. In looking over our data, there is a Joseph Vegiard dit Labonte b.20 Oct 1781 Chambly who married and had children, including sons but we do not have their names/birthdates. Since this Joseph is a son of Joseph, it is quite likely that one of his sons was also named Joseph. I'm sorry I cannot be of more help to you at this point. I agree that with the exception of the given name Charles, these names do not seem to fit usual French-Canadian names.Eileen
