Hi Phil,
Good stuff! Thanks from all for doing the research.
I have a Joseph Marie Laberge in my direct line about that time of 1812.....do you have any more info like birth, death, etc of the Joseph Marie Labarge you cite?
Very poignant about the Arthur Laberge who died near Caen in WW2. You have to wonder if he ever knew how close he was to the birthplace of his ancestor. Any birth date on him? I would like to determine his relationship to my line of the family.
And that is the problem with being a genealogy nut.....you can never be satisied with a fact and instead ask 10 questions for each fact uncovered.
Having missed the armed services myself, I really appreciate (with sincere sadnes) the sacrifices made by so many others so that I and mine can live in freedom (which is slowly being dismembered every day).
