Lets open up the issue a little bit. Labadie-dit Badechon lived for a while in Detroit. virtually under the Ambassador Bridge. He was a Parishioner of St Anne de Detroit which also was virtually under the present Bridge. That church maintained records for indians apparently seperate from its records for the French settlers. His first marriage was to a Campau. Who was very influential with the church. He moved to Sandwich on the site of what is now the distillery.
The church established a missionary called the REd Chapel onthe Canadian side (Assumption)which it maintained for years. It also should have had separate rewcords.
Also there came into being Assumption Paarish on the Canadian side which established a missionaaary St Alphonsus on the Canadian side. Ther is no reason to believe that Labadie ever left his parish but continued with the parish through the red chapel. Assumption Parish has no records of the birth of any of his children.
