My ancestor Edmund Bennett is thought to have had a brother, John. John's son, also John, married Ruthie Bennett, daughter of Caleb Bennett and granddaughter of Edmund Bennett (cousins married). Edmund first owned property in Winn, then what became Grant and finally Natchitoches Parishes-all Natchitoches at that time. John and Ruthie are buried, along with many of their descendants in Russell Cemetery or Red Dirt Cemetery in the Kisatchie Forest, Natchitoches Parish. There are several Bennett researchers working on this family and many of the Bennetts live around the cemetery-A later descendant, also a John, did work at the university library in Baton Rouge-you might check there.
