John A. Dixon - Winn Parish

My Great-Great Grandfather was John A. Dixon who came to Winn Parish about 1852. He served as Clerk of Court for the Parish from 1856-1861. When the Civil War started, he organized what later became Company C, 12th Louisiana Infantry. He served in the Vicksburg Seige. After the war he returned to Winn Parish and lived there until 1871 when he moved to Rapides Parish. Any further information would be most welcome. His wife was Martha Hogan Dixon. They were married in Jackson Parish March 24, 1853.
