Hi!
Does anyone know the identity of the early owners of Cat Island? I have discovered that Judah P. Benjamin of Civil War fame may have purchased it. This would have been in the 1850's-1860's.
I know he purchased a home for his sister after he lost Belle Chase plantation.All I knew of this was that it was somewhere north of Baton Rouge.
