Jacob Germany, overseer of plantation 1836

In a book, MISTRESS OF EVERGREEN PLANTATION, which is a collection of letters written by Rachel Swazey O'Connor, as a plantation owner in the 1830's and 40's, she mentions in several letters her overseer, Jacob Germany. He had a wife and family, but I don't remember their being named. Rachel mentions in several letters what a good man he was and an excellent overseer. This plantation was near St. Francisville in W. Feliciana Parish. This is not my family, but I am researching the Paine family that lived nearby. (Charlotte Paine Williams Coxe and her brothers, Ferdinand C. Paine, John C. Paine, Thomas Paine and sisters, Susannah Paine, Emily Paine, and possibly others)They were born in MS--Adams Co. 1793-1808. Am seeking their parents--possibly Edward Paine. Anyone have the same ancestors, please reply.
