My records indicate that Edgar Lee Ward (19 Oct 1882 - 1967) buried at Ward's Chapel Cemetery about seven miles east of Farmerville in Union Parish was the son of Hillory Hubbard Ward (13 May 1853 - 17 May 1937) and his second wife Mary Abner Callaway (14 Apr 1858 - 22 Dec 1912). I know nothing of Mary Callaway Ward's ancestry. I know much of Hillory Hubbard Ward's ancestry. Here is a little - if you would like more information, contact me and I'll provide further data.
Hillory Hubbard Ward was the son of Elijah Hubbard Ward (1830 - 1887) and Permelia Levincy Lee (1834 - 1869).
Elijah H. Ward was an officer with the Confederate army and the parish surveyor for Union Parish for many years. He was the son of David Ward (c1806 - 1882) and Cynthia Seale (c1813 - 1857). Permelia Levincy Lee was the daughter of Martin Batte Lee and Lavincy Albritton.
Much is known about the Ward, Seale, Lee, and Albritton lines from Union Parish back through Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia. In particular, the Seale and allied lines are traced back into the 1600s.
I know of no connection to Nevin Ward.
