MILLERS-BUSBEYS(SWITZERLAND, FRANCE, FL, LA,, GA
Posted by: edwina (ID *****5719) Date: June 14, 2002 at 08:29:43

Looking for parents and siblings of the following MILLERS:
MARY ANNA OR MARYANNE b. June 28,1823 in Switzerland d. Dec. 25, 1873 in Caddo Parish, LA, married JOHN HAMILTON BUSBEY in ? (somewhere between VA, WVA, FL or LA)
Mary Anna and J. H. Busby were on the 1850 St. Tammany Parish, LA Census with a child. J. H. Busby 4 yrs. old born in FL

JOSEPH F. Miller b. abt. 1826 in Switzerland and AURELIA b. 1828 in Switzerland d. July 31, 1898 in Columbus,Muscogee CO. GA. (Have obituary for Aurelia)buried in Linwood Cemetery, Columbus, GA.)

Joseph and Aurelia are on the 1850 Monticello, Jefferson Co. FL. Census and 1860 Muscogee CO GA Census:"Joseph F. Miller, a shoemaker, age 35;Aurelia age 36, and J.H. BUSBEY age 11, b. in FL and Joseph F. Miller, Age 4 b. in GA."
I know that the J.H. Busbey in the household was the eldest son of Mary Anna Miller and John H. Busby listed above. Aparently he went to live with his aunt and uncle after his father, the senior J. H.(John Hamilton Buabey) died in LA in 1854.

Also have a funeral memorial and a Catholic Burail Record for a MARY ANNA MILLOR or MILLAR "a native of France who died April 12, 1848 at the age of 57 + years."I believe she is the mother of Joseph and Mary Anna Miller Busby. I am assuming that Aurelia is the wife of Joseph F. Miller.

So far have been unable to locate these Millers on any of the Ships Passenger Lists, or Naturalization Records, nor determine a migration pattern. Since all the Millers were born in Switzerland(where I don't know) between 1823 and 1826 and the mother died in 1848, and were on the Census Records in 1850, they must have immigrated between 1826 and 1840.
Can anyone help me?. Edwina
