The Chapman Family
Posted by: Donna Lancaster (ID *****7679) Date: May 26, 2010 at 03:29:13

Does anyone have any information on Jessie C. Chapman or members of his family? He was born in South Carolina in 1790 and reportedly lived in St. Tammany Parish in the 1820s/1830s before moving to Rankin County, Mississippi approx. 1850.

What I am specifically looking for is whether his son John A. might have married there and, if so, what his wife's name might be. John's son, James Theodore, is invariably listed as having his mother be either Jane C. Smith, who died in 1860, 4 years before he was born or Nancy A. (last name unknown) who married John years after James' birth.

I'll gratefully take any info that anyone might have and will share what I have if anyone wants it.

Thanks in advance!
