Researching John Louis Bernard (1845?-1915); may have been born in Bernard (Vendee?), France, or New Orleans. Served in CSA. Murdered in 1915 at Liverpool, LA; buried at Folsom. Had a homestead in Folsom at one time. First wife was Mary Fatima Mallard (1845-1903). Sisters were Mary E. and Alphonsine. Parents may have been Jean and Sarah. St. Tammany court appointed tutor when he was about 17; so parents apparently dead by then. Conflicting stories about coming to LA. Help needed. Belford Carver, Hammond, LA
