Hi, John!
Great to hear from you; enjoyed your site and see where it will help me fill in some blanks.

I descend from Zenon and his brother Emile Cesere; as well as, Camelite Thibodeaux's half sister, Marie Adelaide (mother was Felicie DUHON).

Maire Adelaide married Emile Cesere on 14 Feb 1833, in St. Martin. Their son Cesenne married Helene Zenon CASTILLE (d/o Zenon & Carmelite Thibodeaux) on 25 July 1865.

My great grandfather Avery Bernard Castille was the oldest child of this union. He married Cecile Degeyter on 21 Nov 1889. Their son Avon/Evans married Rita Leblanc of Port Barre in 1930. My mother Ella was the oldest child; she married Freddie T. HEARD of Baton Rouge.

I do not have copies of the military papers; but would be interested in obtaining a copy if you are successful. Have you been able to develope any theory as to how our Spainard came to marry an Acadian girl in MD?
It has always amazed me that somehow they got together. I could picture it more if that had met and married in LA.

Look forward to hearing from you and swapping info.
Rita McPherson
