I am looking for anything on William Cantwell Walters (W C) who was born 1862 Robeson County North Carolina. He was traveling in Louisiana near Opelousas (this is the city the trial was held) when he was held on a sensational kidnapping charge of Robert (Bobbie) Dunbar He was sentenced to life imprisoment, but two years later he was found innocent and released. He did not return to Robeson County NC.
He was the son of James P Walters and Alice Jane Brown Walters.
Place of death is unknown and marriage and children are unknown, any help would be greatly apreciated...
