Thanks for your response. I had come to the same conclusion you did, but do not have access to the Sous Cette Pierre Repose book. I will ask the San Antonio Library to get a copy on loan for me. Thanks for the suggestion. I would prefer to go to a source closer to the original, like St Landry Church, but their "archivist" only works on Monday's and the last two times I went to La. I wasn't there on a Monday, so!!!.

I'll keep looking. I have gone to the St. Landry Courthouse a number of times, and they are very helpful, although the Clerk of Court's office looks like something from the mid-ages.
