St. Landry Parish

Elmer Robert Mullen was born 2 Feb 1903 in Melville, St. Landry Parish, LA. His father was Henry Mullen and his mother was Bell(e), maiden name Cooper but believed her last name at marriage was Wells (Mullen her second husband -- it seems she married another Cooper after Henry's death). Elmer married Bertha Elizabeth Askings on 22 April 1921, but not sure where they were married. Elmer was killed on 26 June 1955 in Kenner, Jefferson Parish, LA -- his car was hit by a passenger train and he died from a brain hemorrhage. His wife Bertha died the same year in Slidell, St. Tammany Parish, LA. Anyone out there who may have some connection with these people would be a gift from the heavens! St. Landry Parish didn't start keeping birth records until 1911 and any information I have is from Elmer's death certificate. Trying to connect Elmer's dad, Henry, with Cornelius "Naley" Mullen and Lucy Reinhart. They are gypsies and it has been quite a challenge!
