Dear Brenda,

Louis Soileau, b. Abt. 1812, married June 10, 1841, St. Landry Parish Ct. Hse.: Mar. #45, Elizabeth Burleigh. She was born September 02, 1822, St. Landry Parish, bt. St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Grand Coteau, LA.

Elizabeth was the daughter of Robert Burleigh, Jr. and Marie Magdeleine Miller.

I have listed 6 of their children, all born in St. Landry Parish:

I believe Louis Soileau, bt. Nov. 2, 1812 at age 2 months in St. Landry Catholic Church is the same as your Louis.

Louis was the son of Louis Soileau and Emelie Guillory. He married (1) April 27, 1831 in St. Landry Catholic Church, Melasie Richard. She was born April 27, 1813, daughter of Simon Richard and Marguerite Janise.

Louis and Melasie had three children, all bt. at St. Landry Catholic Church.

Felicianne Soileau, b. February 9, 1832
Marie Melesie Soileau, b. July 02, 1834
Irosimen (Onil) b. February 6, 1837.

Melasie Richard must have died sometime after their third child was born, however, I could not find a death record.
