Charles Peck (1762-1812) was 25 years older than his wife, Marguerite Lise Savoy (b. 1787). I would guess that he was a widower. You might contact the St. Landry Parish Court House in Opelousas for help. In one of Fr. Hebert's volumes are the following:
SAVOIE, Lise (John & Marguerite Boutin) m. 2 September 1807 Charles Peck of Atakapas (Ope. Ct. Hse: Mar #12) I'd start by asking them to pull that for reference to his being widowed. Ask them to check for an earlier marriage for Charles. They are very helpful.
SAVOIE, Lise ((John & Marguerite Boutin) m. 29 September 1807 Charles Peck (Opel. Church v 1, p. 171)
Another record to check would be in the Successions.
