Buck Johnson - Absalom Johnson
Posted by: Edgar Johnson (ID *****0233) Date: July 11, 2003 at 14:17:12
  of 126

My grandfather, known as Buck Johnson, was listed in the 1900 census for Livingston Parish, Louisiana as Absalom Johnson. He was born in Marion County, MS, about 1860.
My Uncles, born in the 1890's told me that this Buck Johnson was married numberous times and had wives in Mississippi. He left the Louisiana family about 1900 and was not heard from afterwards.
Absalom "Buck" Johnson married 13 February 1886 in St Helena Parish, LA, to Eliza "Liza" Jane Benton. They had eight children:
Henry Allen "Son" Johnson (my father), b. 25 July 1897
Calle J. Johnson, b. 1887
Edgar Silas Johnson, b. July 1888
Alma Johnson, b. June 1890
John Morgan Johnson, b. 21 October 1892
William E. Johnson, 1 June 1893
Florence Johnson, 25 September 1895
Quincy Louis "Quinie" Johnson, 25 September 1899

Any help making a connection with any Buck or Absalom Johnson that may fit this profile will be appreciated
