Hi John,

Here is the information I have on Minnie Wales, beginning with her earliest known ancestor.

Edward Lloyd (Wailes) Wales b. 1770 S.C., m. Jane McBride (1775 N.C. - 1836 La.) d. bet 1854 and 1860 La. They had 10 children:

Martha
Elizabeth
Jane
Sarah
Margaret
Larkin
Mary
James
Matilda
John

Larkin was born 2/27/1808, in either Ky. or La. Died 8/18/1884 La. Married three times: 1st Delilah Allen (div.), 2nd Rebecca Ann Fletcher m. 9/23/1834, 3rd Rosa Ann Thompson
Rebecca was the mother of all of Larkin's children:

Jane Fanny
Rebecca Ann
John Thomas
Mary Elizabeth
James William
Harriet Adaline
William Edward Fletcher
George Washington

Rebecca F. Wales died 4/14/1869

William Edward Fletcher Wales was Minnie's father.

William Edward Fletcher Wales b. 11/9/1849 La. d. 1/16/1894 La. m. 9/8/1867 Mozilla Courtney

Children of W.E.F. Wales and Mozilla Courtney:

William Bennie
Mary
Eugene Causey
J.W.
Leon F.
Minnie

My great-great-grandfather was James William Wales, so William E. F. Wales was my great-great-great-uncle. Most of this information came from the Wales Cemetery, which is online, Hunting for Bears Marriage Index, and Ruth Wales Plautz. There is a lot of Wales information to be found in the census records of Tangipahoa and St. Helena Parishes, most of which are online. If you have any questions about any of this, let me know.

By the way, I have a Talbert Lillie and Rubby Lillie as children of Minnie, in addition to the ones you mentioned. Do you know anything about these?

Carol
